Need honest feedback — what are the biggest pain points in PDR right now?

PDR techs — what are the biggest pain points in the industry right now?

Lately I’ve been noticing newer vehicles are becoming way more annoying to work on compared to older cars.

Especially stuff like:

  • tighter access
  • hidden braces/reinforcements
  • smaller factory openings
  • aluminum panels
  • weird tool paths
  • ADAS/electronics everywhere

Feels like on some cars you spend almost as much time figuring out access as actually repairing the dent.

A lot of the info online is also:

  • scattered everywhere
  • outdated
  • low quality
  • or buried in old forums/Facebook posts
  • conflicting information

I’ve been curious if there’s room for better tools/resources specifically for PDR techs.

Things like:

  • organized access-point info
  • brace locations
  • panel/material notes
  • tool recommendations
  • repair tips from experienced techs
  • original photos/documentation
  • maybe eventually even a tech-to-tech community/chat

Main thing I’m trying to understand:

  1. What are your biggest day-to-day pain points as a PDR tech right now?
  2. What actually wastes the most time during repairs?
  3. If there was a tool/resource that genuinely saved you time every week, what would you realistically pay monthly for it?

Not trying to sell anything — genuinely curious where techs feel the biggest problems are in the industry right now.

EDIT:

I am a software developer with over 5 years of experience, (Not a random kid trying to make money of some vibe coding app) I got this idea because of my dad that’s in this space for over 10 years (Was his idea and one of points where he spends too much time searching over the web and groups) Ik there are other tools for similar but not actually all the info. I just wanted to gauge what are some pain points. Thanks for your responses
