My cat has been acting up since my other cat's death

Ok, so a month ago, my older cat died, and my 3 year old cat has been acting strange ever since. Almost sort of wary, but also sometimes curious and fearless about things she's usually afraid of.

Very soon after our old cat's death, we adopted a couple of kittens in the hopes that it would make Bonnie feel less alone and disturbed. It really did the trick: she adores them.

But it almost seems as though it's not just maternal instinct, she seems almost AFRAID that we'll take them away from her. When one of them is with us and starts meowing, she comes running looking very worried.

She's still accepting big hugs from us, and giving us tons of love, but she also jumps at the smell of my sweat (sorry if this sounds a bit gross, idk how else to describe this, but sometimes she'll jump on my bed, and if there's the shirt I've been wearing that day on there she'll run away, then come back and smell it very warily).

Finally, and this is the thing I'm most worried about: she started trying to go outside, out the window... AND WE LIVE ON THE 15TH FLOOR. I don't tend to leave the window unattended, but in the past three years, the few times that I let my guard down, it had never been a problem. Now, a few days ago, I left for about 30 seconds and then found her outside on the windowsill looking down. So ever since, I've been careful, but yesterday evening, I was in my room, so I was keeping an eye on the window, and she still managed to sneak past and go out. It is TERRIFYING.

I bought a solid mosquito net, cause I can't possibly leave the window closed at all times (it is way too hot here right now), but I wonder why she's doing that in the first place and if I should take her to the vet, because she's never acted up like this before.

Does any of you know how I could help her?
