Hi everyone and UNVs,

I wanted to ask if any UN Volunteers (UNVs) here have ever been requested by their supervisors to work during national holidays or put in extra hours beyond the standard schedule.

If so, were you offered any form of compensation, such as extra pay, time off in lieu, or any other arrangement?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially how this was handled in practice and whether it aligns with official UNV policies.
