Test Results Came Back and It's UARS, curious about the severity as I'm new to all this
I understand everyone's symptoms can vary but just purely from numbers. Check out the below and would appreciate your thoughts since I'm a bit of a noob to all of this.
I've trimmed a bit of the results out and here were some of the key things that seemed interesting:
Slept for 6 hours in lab Polysomnography
- AHI = 0.2/hr (essentially no sleep apnea)
- RDI = 36.0/hr
- RERA events = 215
- Arousal Index = 50.3/hr
- Official diagnosis: Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS)
It says I'm having 50 arousals an hour? Not sure if RDI is the same thing or not. I'm just glad I got a lab that actually tests for RERA's as from what I've read that can sometimes be the hardest part. Is that fairly average for UARS?
They want to put me on CPAP which I've also read isn't as effective for UARS. I imagine I check the sidebar for info and maybe acquire my own BIPAP or ASV?
Would appreciate any insight from you lovely people as this has really affected my life. Tired all day, autonomic nervous system is kattywampus, weak, heart rate issues, chest pressure, head pressure, the whole nine yards.
