first time shipping anything, validating a saas idea before i build it. how long did you wait before knowing?

ok so i finally did the thing i've been talking about for months. built a landing page for a saas idea over the weekend. the idea is basically a tool that makes monthly client reports for freelance marketers way faster than doing it by hand.

haven't built the product yet just the landing page. spent like 35 bucks total on the domain.

question for people who actually did this before me - how long did you give it before you knew if the idea was real or not. i keep reading totally different answers. some people say if you don't get 100 emails in 2 weeks you should kill it. other people say even 20 signups means you have something.

also curious what number actually mattered for you. was it email count or click through rate or just talking to people in DMs.

and last one - biggest waste of time you did pre launch that you would skip if you started over.

thanks in advance
