AI Major vs CIS w/ AI Concentration

Incoming Quaker here!

For context: I’m pretty sure I want to aim for a career involving AI/ML engineering at a startup or in big tech

I know that the AI major is very new and that the first batch of graduates just graduated, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to offer any insight into the quality of the AI program. What is it like? How is the research culture? How does it compare to the CIS major? If I am pretty certain that I want a career in AI/ML engineering, then should I worry about the AI major being too concentrated/too new for recruiters to give credibility?

Side question: Would it be worth double majoring in cognitive science with either AI or CIS?

Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated!
