Sony STR-AN1000 woes
I don't know how to get a hold of Sony directly for this and hoping this might be the best place to ask, if this sounds familiar.
I have tried using AI and lots of googling to solve this, but no setting adjustments I do will work.
My receiver keeps automatically turning on and defaulting the sound to it when I turn on devices, even the TV itself only.
I have a Sony Bravia TV, currently I put my Apple TV 4K into HDMI 4, and the receiver into HDMI 3 (PlayStation and BluRay in the receiver)
I recently did this change because AI claimed it would work (the PlayStation was in HDMI 4 before and the Apple TV in the receiver)
I noticed that sometimes the receiver seems to glitch out, the other day I changed audio to the TV speakers, and when searching for stuff on YouTube with the Apple remote using Siri, the receiver crashed and rebooted and said "please wait" for 5 minutes.
So I am trying to play with settings to get it to stop automatically turn on, but nothing works.
\-changed eArc to normal arc
\-turned off Bravia sync
A bunch more. But i just cannot figure this out. Has anybody seen similar issues. Every single device is Sony except the Apple
Update:
If anybody ever has a similar issue, I eventually narrowed this down to being the Apple TV's "control tv and receiver" setting in the remote menu.
After turning it off, the receiver is acting normal and not automatically turning on or defaulting the sound to it when i turn the TV on
