So I (25M) got married last year. I invited my cousin (27M), and we’ve always been pretty close growing up. He said he would come, but at the last minute he didn’t show up and didn’t even properly explain why. He just sent a short text saying “something came up.”

I was honestly hurt because I made a big effort to include him, and he never apologized after that either.

Now his wedding is coming up, and I decided not to attend. I told him I didn’t feel like making the effort when he couldn’t do the same for me. He called me immature and said I’m holding a grudge over “one mistake.”

Some family members are saying I should just go to keep peace in the family, while others think I’m justified.
