Amoxicillin prescribed after removal for one tooth?
Hi all, I had one wisdom removed yesterday that as slightly impacted (pressing against a molar slightly and not able to erupt fully). The dentist also put a bone graft in place of this wisdom. I’m not sure if it was definitely needed. Or just for the money tbh. (Cost me $400 for the graft out of pocket).
My dentist prescribed amoxicillin 875 mg to take twice daily for a wk. I do not have an infection.
I just took one but I’m wondering if this is standard protocol for every wisdom removal? Is it alright to just take one amoxicillin a day instead of two? Is two overkill if I don’t even have an infection? I already have stomach issues so I’m just not sure what to expect from this. I’ve heard a lot of people saying they were never prescribed it after removal.
