This has me mildly infuriated
Disclaimer: this only applies to De Mer Dock in the Elderwood
Since the royal highlands update, fishing got some small QoL updates.
Your fishing reticle now highlights a specific colour under different circumstances:
- yellow when on a star node
- purple when on an echo node
- orange when on an amber node
Also with the update, the decided to make damn near all the echo nodes at De Mer Dock completely inaccessible.
Prior to the RH update, some echo nodes would be in some difficult spots where basically 90% of the node is unregistered (reticle will go red) and you would have to aim for the outer rim to tag the fishing node.
Post update, YOU CANNOT DO THAT ANYMORE. I have fished at the screenshotted nodes, had my reticle highlight purple and it would not register me as fishing in the echo node.
Why is this a problem? I can’t clear these nodes so that new ones can spawn. If and when a new one spawns, it just spawns in another inaccessible spot. What’s even more annoying, I had 4 nodes spawn in blocked locations so I couldn’t get any new echo nodes to spawn.
Why am I infuriated? I’m trying to fish for Echo Maws to complete the Echo Angler accomplishment. With this bug, I lose almost half the possible salt water echo nodes.
I had hoped this was on their radar in addition to the star nodes in the RH and would be fixed with the recent patch but I was sorely mistaken.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading my rant. I know it’s a small thing but it’s become a real thorn in my side. I really enjoy fishing and this has really put a smudge on it.
Don’t get me started on the lack of river amber nodes in the RH. I’ve started from the amphitheatre stable and worked down to the coast to barely find 3 amber nodes. Sometimes none at all!
