Shampoo/Cond Rex for frequent washes
Hello pros! I’m seeking advice for my schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle). She’ll supposedly be 1yr old next month, I rescued her in March!
I live in the high desert area, so it gets HOT, and is INSANELY DRY here. As you can imagine, dirt… dirt everywhere. She’s got a lot of energy so I have to take her to the dog park which is pretty much just dirt everywhere, she’ll come back a different color. That being said, I know it’s typically frowned upon, but I bathe her once a week. She’s stinky and dirty, but it’s good for her energy to be able to play like she does.
I’m in a different career now, but still a licensed cosmetologist, so I worry about her skin and of course, her being curly, her fur as I don’t want to dry her out. I was hoping to get (please be nice) insight/suggestions on what products would be most moisturizing for her if I am to bathe her this frequently. I use good stuff now, and even put a light hair oil on her while she’s wet to help with moisture (cosmo background there… her coat seems to really like it). She never acts like she’s dried out or anything, but obviously I want to take care of her the best I can!
I have a metal straight comb and a slicker brush. I brush her with the straight comb am/pm to keep her not tangled.
