My Experience Switching From A Windows Laptop To The Neo
I switched from a Levono laptop to the Neo since it was showing its age and I wanted to talk about my whole experience doing so. For the reason why I use the laptop, it is mostly for work, I am a social worker currently and most of my work is done through sites, so I don't need any specialized software. Now I was in the market for just a basic laptop that just felt good to use, with the occasional use to watch a YouTube video or a movie when I wasn't home and wanted something bigger then my phone, which is why the Neo caught my attention. I kept seeing how this thing was the perfect browser machine and how for the price nothing could compare. So I caved and got it and I have been so impressed. The first thing I wanna mention is how cold this machine is, I never felt any uncomfortable temperature when I used this thing which was nice because my levono would get even a little warm near the middle. The screen is also amazing, super crisp and glossy, I can not find even a single pixel out of place with this thing. The feeling is also super premium as well, it's sturdy and firm, the typing has a good softness, but clickyness to it and the battery life is the best part. 8 hours a day and I never have to worry about the battery dying out, I always had to plug in my old laptop, while trying to maximize its longevity, but I can run the Neo, full brightness and not have to worry about it just cronking out during my shift. Now I will admit getting used to the new os was a little weird, but it all felt intuitive by the 3rd day, and one thing I appreciated was able to connect my iPhone messages with my MacBook. Yeah I am falling into apples trapped by indulging more and more with the apple eco system, but this device just feels like the textbook definition of what a laptop should be. Now I do have a few complaints, but they are definitely not deal breakers. Not having a backlight keyboard does suck only when working at night, I don't need to look at my keyboard to type, but it would just be nice especially during some late night browsing. This one is definitely a preference and being unrealistic, but I wish the screen was 120 hertz, I know that's a lot to ask at this price point, but it would just help with the smoothness of transitioning through the main menu. However I rarely ever notice it the refresh rate, only really noticing when I switch off my desktop. Otherwise I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone that wants to browse the web and watch things.
