Is it a technical thing or just a bad game design? I have multiple portals still open but I lose all the rest of the map content? Seems a bit unfair.

New delirium is basically boss rushing with a timer, I don't have insane amounts of time to finish the other content in juiced maps so let me at least do it afterwards, you even LOSE your deli rewards completely if you die to the boss, no splinters, just completely gone. Feels harsh.
