Barbarians, Raiders, Pirates, and Plunders. Who are your war like enemies from the fringe of civilization? And what are they like?
Most people tend to focus on the kingdoms, empire's and so on. But what about the so called Barbarians, do you leave them as simple warlike faceless enemies or are your's more than that. In real world history "barbarians" have often had massive impact on their more settled neighbors. I find these groups incredibly interesting. In my own setting I have more fun fleshing out the cultures of these groups than i do major political entities.
I'd love to hear about some of your "barbarians" I'll add some of my own as well
