Anyone have experience with transferring from bottle back to breast at 6 weeks old? Bonus if it’s after a tie revision
Title is mainly the post 😅 anyone had success at getting baby to the breast? I’m so nervous that I’m taking her to get a frenectomy and I’m scared we will still end up bottle feeding. for background this is my 3rd baby my first was premature and never breastfed we just pumped and my 2nd didn’t transfer well and I had planned to pump and not breast feed so I didn’t try to hard to get him to latch well. This is also the first time I’ve had a full milk supply and I feel so more confident that baby will be fed and don’t feel like I need to excessively track milk output like I did with my first 2. She’s also my last baby and I want to breastfeed
My baby is 1 month old, her latch was great the first day in the hospital then we had 3 hospital admissions in the first 10 days for jaundice so I had to bottle feed her under the lights so we could know how much she was eating to help get the numbers down. Any time I tried every that she was really chompy. 2.5wpp my
Doula (who’s also a clc) said she has a tie, I started going to the breastfeeding class at my hospital to get help they also said she had a tie. She will transfer on my slacker side (painfully latched 🥲) but won’t latch on the other side. Every time i latch her it’s super painful like she’s biting my nipple off. I finally got a frenectomy referral from our pediatrician and it’s scheduled for 6/1 when she will be 6 weeks and some days old. I’m hopeful since she will transfer even if not great even before having it done but I’m so nervous that I will just be stuck to this pump 25/8 for the next 11 months.
