'Stray' kitten hanging around my house

Hey guys, looking for some advice. There's a kitten that's been hanging around my house since mid May. I haven't been able to get close to it. I posted in a local facebook group asking if it was anyone's kitten/how to catch it. Someone claimed it was their friend's kitten and told me to leave it alone. I ended up deleting the post because they were really aggressive in the comments and started arguing with other people, and I didn't want my name associated with it, hence why I'm now posting here.

The kitten does not have a collar, and I've left food out for it a few times and it has licked the bowl clean! I also left a blanket in a box and it was sleeping in there recently (as soon as it realised I was there it darted away, it's so fast). Additionally, the first time I saw the kitten it was sooo tiny. I'm not sure of ages as I'm not too familiar with cats and kittens, but I suspect it was too young to even be away from it's mother.

I am skeptical that the facebook comments were true and/or if they were even sure it was the same kitten. Obviously I did not message them, as they were so aggressive. It not having a collar and being so small makes me suspicious it is a stray kitten, and the fact that it is also a kitten left to roam around makes me even more sure it's a true stray and not someone's pet. Because who would be letting their kitten roam at such a young age?

What ages do people typically let their cats out to roam? Do most people put collars on their cats? Should I stop feeding it and leave it alone? My ideal plan would be to catch it (if I can) and take it to the vet to see if it is microchipped. If not, then please can I keep it? Lol. I'm only half kidding. Do I do something or leave it alone?
