How to tell my family to stop joking about me peeing my bed?
I 20F have peed my bed occasionally in high school before due to high levels of stress. It has gotten better up until now in college, when I got SA’d a while ago. It’s not frequent, but I have peed my bed once already now that I’m home for the summer and I am extremely embarrassed about it. My mom and sister are the ones who primarily joke about it. I’ve told them to stop before because it makes me uncomfortable but they don’t get why. They’re aware of what happened, but they probably don’t understand how me peeing my bed can be a response to the trauma. They haven’t joked about it recently, but when they do how should I tell them to stop? I don’t really want to bring up being SA’d because I don’t want to be reminded of it and I don’t want them to feel bad, but I feel like that’s the only way they will stop. I just need help with properly communicating that with them.
