Sigma 23mm f/1.4 vs Viltrox 27mm f/1.2?

Not sure which one to get for my A6700. This would be my everyday lens I use most for street photography, and pretty much whenever I step out of the house to do just about anything as I carry my camera with me 99% of the time. This would be a pretty big upgrade for me as I’ve used much slower lenses so I think either one would be great but I’m having a hard time deciding on one after narrowing it down to these two.

The main reason I would lean Sigma is because I’ve used the 23mm (35mm FF) more than any other focal length and I’m at the point where I’m “comfortable” with it, which I can’t say for any other focal length yet. It’s also lighter too which is always nice but not the biggest deal for me.

On the other hand, every review I’ve watched and read says the Viltrox is almost better across the board (albeit not by a lot), and the 27mm is kinda intriguing in the way that it’s a focal length I’ve never used. Also it’s slightly cheaper which I was confused about, though the difference is only like $30 so I guess it’s whatever.

Which lens should I get as a beginner bird photographer?

I’m currently using the Sony A6700 and typically do other types of photography with much smaller and wide angle prime lenses. I’m heavily interested in getting into wildlife and specifically bird photography, though I’m not sure what lens I should get, and what important things to consider when getting a big telephoto lens. Preferably I would want something that I can hold with my hands, though I probably should get a monopod or tripod at some point? I’ve never used one so I’m not sure. I’m willing to spend upwards of about 2,000 USD, maybe a bit more. I’d prefer to stay under 3K though as that’s a lot of money to say the least. Thanks for the help!

Should I keep the Sony A6700 or the Fuji X-E5?

I have both cameras in my possession and I want to figure out which to keep and which to sell to buy a lens for wildlife photography. That won’t be the only style of photography I’ll focus on as I do street photography and love to take photos when I travel and of my friends/family/gf. The only potential issue I find with the X-E5 for wildlife photography is the weaker autofocus compared to Sony’s elite autofocus. Also the A6700 is better for videos right? I’m 100% focused on photography and improving at that, not videography, but I’m sure once in a while I’d like the ability to take decent videos. Also just to give more info on what lens I’m considering for each camera: the Fuji XF 150-600mm or the Sony 200-600mm. The main questions I do have

  1. Is the better autofocus on the Sony significant enough specifically for wildlife photography?
  2. Is the 40 MP of the X-E5 much better for cropping or other stuff I’m not aware of compared to the 26 MP of the A6700?
  3. Is the A6700 better for videos? How much better?
  4. Last but not least, which should I keep?

Thanks for the help!

Which lens should I upgrade to as a novice wildlife photographer?

I’m completely new to wildlife photography and have taken a strong interest in photographing birds (among other animals), which is so different from the type of photography I’ve done so far. I have an APS-C camera (a Fuji X-E5) and have been using the Fuji XF 70-300mm lens for a bit now. I think it’s a great and sharp lens, but I find myself taking most of my photos at 300mm, and even then I need to crop more. I still think I’ve gotten some pretty decent photos after cropping and spending some time in Lightroom, but I think it’d be smarter to return this lens as I can still get a full refund, and get a lens with a longer reach. I think my best options are the Tamron 150-500mm or the Fuji XF 150-600mm. I don’t have a budget so that’s not an issue. What do you guys think I should do? Any advice is welcome as I’m so new to this and I’m still very ignorant to this type of photography. Thanks!
