Warlike species who is trapped behind the dunes of madness

Silas:

Silas Vain was once the richest preacher on the eastern continent, a man who sold faith by the crowd while privately believing none of it. When his daughter Elena was marked by destined death, every miracle he could buy failed. Her death broke him, but not into humility. It broke him into purpose.

His failed resurrection cursed him with undeath: he cannot die, cannot pass on, and cannot reach the child he claims to love. For five years he grieved. Then he began converting grief into infrastructure.

His first true act was the Great Transmutation: an entire banking city of 250,000 souls compressed into a single philosopher’s stone, now his phylactery. The First Crusade of Tyr began because of that crime. It failed to end him.

Silas no longer seeks merely to see Elena. That was the first lie grief told him. He now seeks to reverse the divine hierarchy itself: to make gods mortal.

Sea of blindness:

Pure alkahest, required for the binding of souls to matter. it is the universal solvent, only contained by the perfect material, gold.
