2021 Ford Edge - How much have you spent on repairs?
I have a 2021 Ford Edge SEL with 110k miles. 80% of the miles are highway miles across the flat Midwest. I bought brand new and have had a rash of issues in the past year.
I’ve had all of the regularly scheduled maintenance to date, so I would expect to have such large repair bills. Figures below are approximate, and of course a diagnostic fee with nearly every issue.
- New Spark Plugs - Engine misfire(April 2025 @98k miles) & Transmission fluid replacement. $560ish
- Torque converter replacement (April 2025 @98k miles) $4,000
- Transmission replacement (June 2026 @ 110k miles) $8,000
- Purge valve and purge valve solenoid, o2 sensor, and a couple other items (June 2026 @ 110k miles) $1,400
Nearly $14k spent on maintenance in addition to the regular upkeep like oil changes, tires, etc…
An extra $233+ average added to my monthly payment which I still have 5 more to go. SMH
Long story short, watch out for that Ford Quality. Stay away from the 8F35 transmission as there is a potential class action lawsuit pending.
