Free note-taking app that syncs via my existing cloud storage
Okay, I've been going in circles on this for way too long and I'm hoping someone here has cracked it.
All I want is a note-taking app for Linux and Android (web would be nice but whatever) that syncs through cloud storage I *already own and pay for*. I've got a Strato HiDrive account I trust, and I just want my notes to live there. That's it. I don't want a separate subscription just to sync a few MB of plain text, and I really don't want to spin up my own server and babysit the whole architecture myself.
I gave **Joplin** a real shot because it supports WebDAV and HiDrive does too. But my HiDrive has 2FA, and WebDAV just falls apart with it. I'd literally have to paste a fresh 2FA code into the connection string every hour, on both my laptop *and* my phone. Completely unusable. Turning off 2FA isn't happening, and making a second account without it costs money, which is the whole thing I'm trying to avoid.
Apps like Notesnook and Obsidian put sync behind a paywall, which I'd like to avoid. Really I just want something I can use long term. Preferably open-source or established enough that it won't vanish or start charging down the line.
So... does this thing exist? Either an app that handles WebDAV (or other protocol) + 2FA properly, or some other way to sync to HiDrive (app passwords, their API, whatever) that I haven't found yet. I feel like I'm missing something obvious. Thanks!
