22 month old boy not meeting his milestones
Our child is 22 months old now and has always been late with meeting his milestones, but the one that has us wondering the most is the fact he can't point, doesn't say a lot of words and is very easily agitated.
He makes a lot of noises and does say 'yeah', Ba, Dada (sometimes). If he wants something, he will just go and get it, but it's still frustrating for him and also us as he can't communicate his needs at all.
He does use some gestures such as waving and clapping, so I can't understand why he can't point.
Some people around us just say he's a 'lazy lad' and that boys are usually slower, but we just think at 2, he should really be making a lot more progress in social and communication skills.
He recognises his name and makes good eye contact, but some kids do these things and are still autistic.
I obviously don't want to label my child when he's this young, but it still makes me wonder if autism is a possibility.
