Endgame progression traps

With the atlas tree being non-refundable, there are a couple of "traps" that a fresh endgame player might fall into that could make maps extremely rippy. Figured it'd be worth to have a collection of some warnings people might like to have.

I'll start with essences/summoning circles: Essences can buff map bosses and/or summoning circles, which can be extremely rippy when paired with temp chains and/or chilled ground. Summoning circles can also summon multiple bosses, all of which will be buffed by essences if the proc hits, and it can also summon citadel bosses.

Hive fortresses are ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE. Not sure if it was fixed, but the first time I cleared it I beelined to the center and cleared the wave mechanic, then left the fortress, but the map wouldn't complete. Also, you can't sprint during the escape phase as each pulse/wave/whatever damages you for like 10 damage and makes you trip over.

Any other "traps" that new players/weaker builds might wanna avoid?
