Passed FE Electrical on My First Try — 14 Years Out of School
I just found out that I passed the FE Electrical and Computer exam on my first attempt.
I graduated about 14 years ago and have been working mostly as an electrical technician, not in a formal engineering role. English is also not my first language, so coming back to engineering theory after all these years was challenging.
For the last 2 months, I studied intensely — around 8 hours a day, almost every day.
Main study materials I used:
FE Electrical Review
Wasim Asghar 700 Practice Problems
Official NCEES Practice Exam
What helped me the most was solving a huge number of problems repeatedly and getting familiar with the FE Reference Handbook.
If anyone here has been out of school for years and is doubting themselves, it’s definitely possible to pass with discipline and consistency.
