A year ago today, I found a kitten on a bridge

I was riding my bike and saw this little one at the top of a bridge. I was a bit shocked, it was my first time personally experiencing the cat distribution system.

I have no idea how she got up there - the bridge is pretty long and noisy with a lot of car traffic. I spent about 20 minutes gently coaxing her out so she didn’t lose her balance. I tried to look for signs of her mom or any siblings around the bridge, but didn’t see anything, so I ended up walking back home with her in my arms. She was so sweet the entire time, no attempts to bite me or wriggle free. Just the occasional meow while looking up at me.

The vet weighed her in at 1.8 lbs and estimated her age at around 8 weeks. Besides being very small, the vet said she looked really healthy for being a stray. I decided to keep her and she has since grown into a lovely young lady!

I named her EB after where I found her - Eleventh st. Bridge.
