I had a tree company remove a large tree this weekend. While he was up in the bucket, he said he could see a tree that was collecting water at a major junction point (see circled joint). He said I need to spray that gap with closed cell foam to stop the water infiltration. A quick google search suggests that is probably not the right solution. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this joint from further degradation?
