Parting out an Objet 260 Connex3 – Is there any resale value in expired resin (TangoBlackPlus, VeroBlue) and cleaning fluid?
Hey everyone,
I recently acquired an Objet 260 Connex3 3D printer and I am planning to sell everything off. To maximize the return, I am parting it out and selling the printer, the spare parts, and the materials completely separately.
I have already listed the spare parts (like the print heads). Now I am trying to figure out if the materials still hold any financial value, as they are unfortunately past their official expiration date.
Specifically, I have:
TangoBlackPlus (FLX980)
VeroBlue (RGD840)
A large amount of Model Cleaning Fluid
Since Stratasys materials are notoriously expensive, I am wondering if people still buy these expired cartridges for a discounted price, or if they are considered total garbage.
Is expired Tango/Vero resin still usable for hobbyists or people running older machines, or does it degrade to the point of clogging print heads?
Does the Model Cleaning Fluid actually go bad, or can it still be sold and used without issues?
Will the printer’s RFID/chip system completely block a buyer from using them due to the expiration date, or is there an easy workaround?
I want to know if it's worth creating separate listings for these cartridges to make some extra cash, or if I should just scrap them. Appreciate your insights!
