This type of sleep quality is normal, right?
Purple is deep sleep, light purple is light, orange is REM and yellow is me waking up.
So I’ve had a recent diagnosis of severe OSA, I am scheduled in for an appointment for some further testing and remedials. My watch has logged the attached over the course of the night and I can see the issue, pretty much as soon as I hit deep sleep or REM, I just end up yo yoing back to light sleep.
In hindsight, I’ve had incidents in my early 20s, that, looking back, would be quite clear signs that there was an issue. I recall falling asleep when I overexert myself mentally, just literally conking out and coming to, around 20 mins later. Then I’ve had an incident where it happened after a heavy physical exertion. I’ve been incident free the last 10 or so years, but now that I am reflecting on it, it was likely due to me just learning to manage it better. So get yourselves checked guys, if you’re in UK, it’s a GP referral and just one uncomfortable night of wearing monitoring equipment (sleep study) and you’ll have your answer.
