Hotel Decision: Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, and Beach club
Ok we are planning to visit mid August. Short trip but trying to get the most out of it. 2 adults 14 M and 7 F Twins.
Let me preface this with we are NOT Disney people at all. Actually would consider it more like the worst place on Earth than the best lol. But this is the obligatory trip for the 7 year old twin girls. We took our son when he was that age. We plan on doing MK and Hollywood for two days with park hopping for Animal Kingdom another. Then hitting Universal for a Day. Depending on location we would consider doing parks early, back to resort to do pool during hottest part of the day (one of the twins does not do the heat particularly well) and then back to parks later when it’s maybe a little cooler.
Trying to decide which hotel. Some of the reviews are scary. As far as rooms we were quoted the following rooms:
Boulder Ridge Villas at Disneys Wilderness Lodge Deluxe Studio Resort View
Disneys Beach Club Resort Resort View
Disney Polynesian Village Resort Theme Park View
They are all with $1k of each other which with Disney is basically peanuts. I’ve been ready reviews and some are scary. Especially for basics. Like places on having a sheet on the bed, no blanket. AC that shuts off during the night so it’s not cold (sleeping cold is a must for us), super loud in the middle of the night, etc.
We like the “themes” of Wilderness and Polynesian; I get people excited about the “beach” but we live East Coast and do beach days all the time during the summer so that “theme” would not be that impressive. We are using a travel agent and she said she liked the Beach Club best. I thought picking a deluxe resort and paying that much money I wouldn’t not have to worry about simple things like the room being cold or having a blanket. To me those are pretty basic needs.
We are not overly high class and do not need to be wined and dined. But these reviews have me really scared. I am trying to make the best of this for my kids but if I spend all this money and can’t sleep because it’s hot and everyone is miserable the trip will be a waste.
I would not consider any of the restaurants as a part of us picking. We only plan on doing like one nice sit down dinner somewhere (still undetermined) and then easier options other nights. We are not doing a food plan.
