I loved this year’s Tony Awards show. I loved last year’s as well The difference for me is that last year in terms of the hosting Cynthia Erivo carried the whole show, from her singing to her banter to her aura. I must have listened to her opening and closing numbers 100 times. The Hamilton reunion was also exceptional. However, there wasn’t enough from other performers on her level. This year Pink was fabulous, but there were other exceptional numbers from other stars. The level of talent on display was so high and really “Broadway” at its best.
