Scalp psoriasis for 16 years. It's spreading and now I have psoriatic arthritis?
I've been dealing with the itchiness and non stop flaking on my scalp and behind my ears since I was 10 years old. I've have tried EVERYTHING.
Head and Shoulders, Sulfur 8, Selsum Blue, Benzoyl Peroxide, BOTH the green and the blue Nizoral shampoos, Salicylic Acid shampoos, T Gel, tea tree oil, going oil free, etc. I've have been to over 4 dermatologists and have been prescribed Ketoconazole shampoo and serum multiple times and NOTHING has worked. I've tried adjusting my diet and even going vegan.
Zero luck. I'm on prenatal supplements as well but no improvement. Last year it suddenly worsened and spread to my face. Flakes appear within 2 hours of washing. I get no relief. I have also been experiencing a lot of flu like exhaustion, and extreme joint pain and stiffness all over my body over the last 6 months. I am 26 but I feel 80. I’m wondering if this could be psoriatic arthritis? I think doctors always assumed I had Seborrheic Dermatitis, but now I am convinced this is Psoriasis due to the influx of other symptoms. I’m considering asking about immunosuppressants but I am concerned about the cost and potential side effects. Any advice? This has sent into a deep depression.
