I’ve been seeing really mixed opinions about health system in China and wanted to hear from people who’ve actually dealt with it there.

Some people make it sound super efficient and affordable, others say it’s confusing at first if you don’t speak Chinese or don’t really know how the system works.

How hard is it to figure things out? Like if you suddenly need to see a doctor:

• Do you just walk into a hospital and figure it out?

• How big of an issue is the language barrier in real situations?

• Do most foreigners handle things themselves or usually get help?

I’ve also seen people mention services that help foreigners navigate healthcare there, but I’m not sure how common that actually is.

Updates: Lately I’ve been hearing about services like China Access Health that help foreigners navigate hospitals and appointments, which got me wondering how common that actually is in practice.
