I'm not sure how to word this but I hope it makes some sense.
Including myself, there's four distinct parts. We all take on a plethora of roles - an aspect of daily life, some kind of protecting and/or caretaking, and some kind of emotional holding (memories, feelings, or symptoms). While we don't have consistent internal communication, things work out really well.
I wouldn't say everyone is always fronting, but I do feel everyone's influence all day everyday to some degree. I might even consider myself more of a mixing pot rather than individual on my own.
I've never heard another person with DID/OSDD describe an experience like this so it makes me doubtful. But is it possible for a system's structure to function like this? And if so, is there actually a term for it?
