I'm looking for a new optometrist and I have narrowed it down to a couple choices. I'm really stuck on the fact that one choice has an on-site lab and the other doesn't.
My current doctor's office doesn't have an on-site lab, but I previously went to an office that did.
I'm sure this is the part where I give y'all my prescription so you can judge the details, but I don't really know my prescription because I have never had the desire to buy my glasses elsewhere. I can tell you that I have plus lenses, astigmatism, amblyopia (less vision but not no vision, so lens is functional and so much thicker), and have had glasses with and without prism. Presbyopia is also on the horizon. I currently have polycarbonate lenses with a Crizal (sp?) coating.
What's the reality with the on-site lab. Is it that important?
Note: I also live in a US state where opticians are not required to be licensed if that matters to the situation.
