I know I could probably figure this out myself, but I really don’t feel like doing the work right now. More importantly, I’m confident that someone on this board has already compiled a complete timeline of every dated event from the series and has probably updated it to include the events of the film as well.

I’m also not afraid to admit that there are people out there who are smarter than me, have already done all the hard work, and are more than happy to show the world just how smart they are by sharing a complete chronology of events and pointing out any new revelations that emerge from it.

I have a feeling there’s at least one major piece of information hidden in the timeline—or at the very least, a new question that only becomes apparent once everything is laid out in chronological order.

I’m sure someone will eventually put this together if they haven’t already. The film has only been out for a week, after all. Still, I’m a little surprised I haven’t seen more discussion surrounding it. People who have been dissecting and analyzing this series since its earliest days have always paid close attention to dates and timelines. I also know there were plenty of fans who were especially excited for the movie because it would finally provide some concrete information about when certain events occurred.

So if someone already has a complete, accurate, and up-to-date timeline they’d be willing to share—or if someone is inspired to put one together now for the benefit of the rest of us—I know I won’t be the only person grateful for the effort.

For the sake of creating a single post where more serious analysis and theory-crafting can be compiled, I would also invite everyone to share what they believe are the biggest revelations to come out of the film, as well as the most pressing questions that have emerged because of it. I’d love for this to become a place where hardcore fans who are well-versed in the series can really dig into the details and bounce ideas off one another.

I know I can’t be the only person who’s a little tired of scrolling through discussion boards and seeing the same introductory questions repeated over and over again: What are the Backrooms? What is a Still Life? What does ASYNC do? And so on. No offense whatsoever to people who are just now discovering all of this—the larger the audience grows, the happier I am. I genuinely love seeing new people become interested in something that has meant so much to me for so long.

That said, I’m dying to have some deeper conversations with people who have a strong understanding of the series and want to get into the weeds a bit. The timeline, the implications of the film, the unanswered questions, the contradictions, the hidden connections, the things we might have missed—I want to hear all of it.

Once we have a complete timeline in front of us, what do you think is the biggest revelation? What assumptions were proven wrong? What new theories have emerged? What questions are keeping you up at night now that we have this new information?

The dates have always felt unusually important to this project—more than in almost any other story I’ve followed. They don’t just tell us what happened; they often hint at what hasn’t been revealed yet and what might be coming next.

So let’s hear it. What have you got?

I know this might sound crazy — and it probably won’t happen — but what the hell?

Would anyone be interested in setting up a date and time shortly after the film’s release to get together and talk about it? I’m thinking Friday night on the 29th, since I assume most of us will have seen it at least once by then.

It would be awesome to have a place where diehard fans could discuss the movie, share theories, analyze details, and bounce ideas off one another. No one in my real life is into the Backrooms — and definitely not to the extent that I am — so I’d love the chance to debrief with people who are just as invested in all of this and just as excited for the film as I am.

I’ve been told Discord would probably be the best place for something like this, but unfortunately I’ve never really used it before, so my knowledge of it is pretty limited. My thought process is this: if you’re just as big of a Backrooms nerd as I am and maybe don’t have anyone in the Frontrooms who shares your enthusiasm, this could be a place where you can finally talk about everything you just watched with people who are just as obsessed with the Backrooms as you are. All the theories, all the hidden details, all the nonstop thoughts that have been bouncing around in your head afterward.

I think it would be really cool to build a little community of like-minded people, especially around a work of art that practically demands discussion and analysis once it’s been seen.

I honestly have no idea how this will be received, and I’m not going to get my hopes up too much. But if this somehow appeals to other people too, I genuinely think it could end up being a really fun time.
