Do you have a name for the dracaena draco?
In the Canary Islands we call them dragon trees, but I’m aware there are still vestiges in Morocco. I wonder if any who live in the mountains have an amazigh name for the tree? Pic for reference

Don’t want to involve current politics nor nationalism in this. I do not wish to offend anyone.
I’m from the Canary Islands and currently compiling our history. First well-documented “western” knowledge of the islands is from Pliny the Elder who narrates a second hand exploration ordered by King Juba II of Numidia.
There’s evidence of this connection between the islands and the African continent in the shape of Roman pottery found in Lanzarote.
But I’d also like to know if there’s any regional knowledge of the islands.
Considering that Amazigh culture is mostly oral tradition handed down and I know it’s a big stretch (talking pre-Roman era) I’d like to know if anyone knows or could ask their elders if there’s stories or knowledge of the existence of these islands before the Romans. I’m even going as far as asking for local legends that mention islands.
Obviously I’m not asking for proof nor will I compile this knowledge as “indisputable evidence” but more as just pointing towards the existence of these stories.
Thank you!
