I am currently renting a home with a backyard and full sun exposure... am very tempted to get a fruit tree in a pot. I live in southern Ontario, so long winters.

Curious if anyone has had a peach, pear and/or cherry tree in containers, and how the experience has been so far!

Title says it all.

I have a lot of leftover window screen replacement mesh that I don't really need... and was hoping to use it for milk crate planting. My worry is if the gaps are too small to allow water through and cause waterlogging and root rot.

Appreciate thoughts/feedback if this is a good or bad idea!
