Like my dad was an emotionally distant asshole, I was always told to suck things up, scolded for using salt on fish etc. etc. only to turn out to be the most involved helicopter parent to his following 3 sons. With us he was supposedly too Muslim to sit down even for a minute on Christmas Eve yet is at every holiday at the new wifes parents. Refused to speak French to me from infancy, giving some weird excuse that I should accomplish everything myself like he did. My 3 brothers ofc all speak fluently.

Hed even have the audacity to tell me "i didnt have time to call you as much, bc after work I have to put the kids to sleep and such". Ill never know whats that about.

He also said it suspiciously casually. I would be mortified not bringing enough cash to the cartel. Don't they consider it like stealing? But I wanna know what exactly he meant by 'being light' and why did that even occur? why didnt Nacho pretend to beat him outside? Kill two birds with one stone

For example, I've been betrayed and f***ed over by people repeatedly in my 30-year lifetime, yet I refuse to believe in the 'well, then just don't have friends, period' advice. It's sort of like throwing out the baby with the bathwater to me. Being betrayed means it was just the wrong person, not that the entire concept of friendship is flawed. It's not the ideal for me. Could it be I'm just needy or immature?
