Hi, I do not understand how does tuta drive stores files in the desktop app, is any of these options?
a) It does not stores anything locally, it is just a browser for all the files that are stored in tuta's cloud.
b) Stores things locally, ala Google Drive / Dropbox, but in an encrypted format in the installation folder.

Hi, I have started migrating my email to a secure email provider. In the process I came with the strategy of purchasing 2 domains. The 1st one for absolute critical stuff (government, insurances...), and the 2nd one mainly for things like shopping and services who already have other personal data, like my address, name, phone number... And everything else goes through an alias service.
I know that using a custom domain makes things much more traceable and less anonymous, as it is more easy to pinpoint a custom domain rather a shared one like gmail/protonmail, etc. However... does it really matter has those webpages already have other and, in my opinion, more relevant information like my true name or my address?
In the case of a leak in one of those webpages, I am more worried about the leaking of my address-name than my email tbh.
What is the consensus? Because as far as I see the alternative is to use an alias service for everything that is not strictly personal, but if the service goes burst or you want to change aliases services it would be an absolute pain.
As far as I see, if the service already know your other, more sensitive data, the anonymity downside of the custom domain it is just... irrelevant? Or do I miss something?
Hi all! I am new to Tuta and I was trying the autofill feature in the recipients field when writing a new email. The autofill works fine in the Desktop App (W11) and on Android (F-droid), however when using the web version it does not work. I start typing the name of one of my contacts but nothing comes up.
I would like to know if this is the supposed behaviour or if there is something going on.

Hi, I have a question. I had a Tuta (paid) account that was deleted manually by me. If I create another (paid) account. Is there any chance that I recover my old email adress (before the @)? I still have the recovery code and the password. I asume that all my emails will have been deleted but would like to keep the adress.
Edit: adress was deleted less than a month ago, in case that is relevant.
