Upwork should give clients one simple option that would instantly reduce AI proposal spam for everyone

The AI proposal flood is killing Upwork for genuine freelancers. But the fix does not have to be complicated.

My suggestion: give clients two options when posting a job.

Option A — Delayed visibility. Proposals are hidden for 30 to 60 minutes before the client can see them. Bots still flood in but clients read everything at once fairly.

Option B — Normal post. Current system stays for those who prefer it.

This one small change levels the playing field without banning anyone or changing the whole platform.

What do you think? Would this work?

Client said "you're exactly what we're looking for." Then vanished forever. Anyone else?

[21M] Looking for a 21F friend to just talk and have good conversations with

Hey,

I am a 21 year old guy just looking for a genuine female friend to chat with regularly. Strictly platonic, nothing else.

A little about me: I am easy going, a good listener, and I enjoy music, watching movies, and having random fun conversations about anything and everything. I am pretty active so you will not be left on read for days.

If that sounds like someone you would want to talk to, just send me a PM and we can get to know each other.

Need Female Friend To Know Girls Better

I'm looking to make a genuine female friend because I feel like I don't fully understand girls' perspectives, emotions, and experiences. I'm not looking for anything inappropriate or forced, just honest conversations and a healthy friendship where we can talk openly and learn from each other.

I believe understanding different perspectives helps in personal growth, and I'd really appreciate getting to know someone who's comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences.

If anyone is interested in a normal, respectful friendship and good conversations, feel free to comment or DM.

Is Upwork still worth it in 2026 for finding serious long term tech partners or has it become a race to the bottom?

Been having a lot of conversations lately with founders and business owners about where they actually find reliable tech partners these days.

A few years ago Upwork seemed like the go to place. But recently I keep hearing the same frustrations:

Profiles look great, work does not deliver

Too many agencies hiding behind freelancer profiles

Lowest bid wins, quality suffers

Communication drops off after contract starts

Hard to find someone who actually understands the business side, not just the technical side

At the same time some people swear by it and have found amazing long term partners through the platform.

So genuinely curious, for those of you who have hired tech talent or consultants on Upwork:

Is it still worth it or have you moved on to other ways of finding serious tech partners?

What has your experience actually been like?

Anyone else seeing invitation proposals missing from Upwork Inbox?

I noticed something strange recently on Upwork. After replying to client invitations, the proposals appear in Active Proposals, but they no longer show in my Inbox/interviews like they used to.

This has happened to me multiple times over the past few days, so I’m wondering if Upwork changed something or if it’s just a bug on my side.

Curious if anyone else has noticed this too.
