Westjet charging in US dollars?
I recently had a seat booking problem with WJ, where at the last minute, while already in my destination, they moved me out of seat 2a (which i had booked and paid for 4 months earlier) into seat 25 for my flight home. This was due to an "equipment change". So they refunded me the $50 I had paid to book it.
I didn't want row 25 so i checked for other seats closer to mine. I found one in row 4. it had a $51 marked on it, so I clicked it. Figuring, I'm basically breaking even with the refund.
On my credit card, the $51 showed up but was in US$ thereby making it about $75 Can$.
Why would WJ do that? I wasn't in the US. I was in Mexico when they changed my seats for the flight home. I used the WJ app to select my new seats.
Why US Dollars??
