Hi! I’ve been trying to find this book for ages and can’t crack it. Here’s everything I remember:

•	Middle grade fantasy chapter book, read in Australia sometime in the 2010s

•	Main character is a girl whose name is something gem-related (I think Gem or Gemma but not 100% sure)

•	At the start of the book she breaks into a castle to steal a magical jewel/gemstone — she can’t touch it with her bare hands so she has to wrap it in something

•	She uses a bow during the heist

•	She has a shapeshifting pet that can transform into any animal

•	The pet turns into a jaguar specifically to carry/hold the jewel (because the girl can’t touch it)

•	The cover was semi-realistic and showed just a big cat (jaguar or similar) with a diamond/jewel in its mouth — no people on the cover

•	There was magic in the book and I think some kind of training later on

•	I only ever read/saw one book so it may be standalone

The jaguar-carries-the-jewel detail is really specific so hopefully someone recognises it! Any help appreciated 🙏
