2020 Ford Escape Transmission Issues
2020 Ford Escape – Transmission Failure at 25K Miles, Almost 10 Months Without My Car. Need Advice.
Hey everyone, looking for some advice on a really frustrating situation.
I have a 2020 Ford Escape with only 25,000 miles on it. A while back it started making a grinding noise, so I took it to the dealership. Instead of properly diagnosing the issue, they told me to just put it in Sport mode. Not exactly a fix.
About a month later, the transmission completely failed.
I had it towed back to the dealership in August 2025 after it broke down on the interstate and was told the wait time for repairs could be up to five months. It has now been almost 10 months and I still don't have my car back. In the meantime, I'm still on the hook for monthly car payments, insurance, and taxes all on a vehicle I can't even drive.
Has anyone dealt with something like this? Is there anything I can do at this point — whether it's escalating with Ford corporate, pursuing a lemon law claim, or anything else? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
