As the title says, one of my supervisors recently decided to get really into AI and started using AI services to generate pictures and edit pictures.

I'm a traditional and digital artist, and absolutely hate generative AI. The worst part is he asks me to come over and ask me what I think of his pictures, and I have to grit my teeth and say, "Oh yeah... Looks great...".

But this week he decided to advertise T-shirts he made with his AI junk.

A part of me wants to light this up because I'm getting a little sick of AI being shoved down our throat, especially since the federal agency jobs are literally forcing employees to take AI training classes now.

But what I'm hoping will actually happen is that nobody will buy the T-shirts and he learns his lesson.

I thought promoting private businesses at work was illegal...

This has been one of my biggest struggles as a practitioner. It's like every time I reach a peaceful state, I get the thoughts of, "Do I even deserve to feel this way? People and creatures around the world are being assaulted, killed, starving, not getting clean water, not granted a good night's rest.".

I know for a fact this holds me back but it's like I am denying myself further progression because I am no longer in hardships, like some sort of conservative view of "No pain no gain."

Does anyone else have this issue or have advice on how to overcome this?

For the love of God people, if you have the ability to get insurance- GET IT.

If you're a veteran- GO GET ASSESSED/RATED, USE YOUR GI BILL, SETUP UP AN ACCOUNT WITH VA.GOV.

You are not doing yourself or others a service by not getting insured, not getting health checkups or not using your benefits.

This screws everyone because if everyone has this mindset, and nobody uses their benefits, it gets DEFUNDED.

We are not immortal, we WILL get sick and we WILL all die someday, and if you aren't insured, you fuck over your friends and family with debt because you can't afford the hospital visits or surgeries.

If you don't take care of yourself, others will have to take care of *you*!
