I’ve recently started driving my family’s 2011 Mini because my car bit the dust. I was checking the coolant and it looks like the mechanic we go to has been using a gold colored, universal coolant instead of what I understand should be used specifically for Minis which is the blue European coolant formula. Does anyone know if using universal coolant is really that bad? I’ve read that it can cause problems in the long run (like with the radiator) but I don’t know if what I read is accurate. Thanks in advance.
