AITJ for stealing most of my adopted brother's property?

So I (20sm) was raised in a giant house. My family was extremely rich. And despite my adopted status, they always treated me with the upmost respect. One day I met one of my family's employees misusing some of my family's property. I got so angry I accidentally killed the employee. Distraught and afraid, I fled into the wilderness.

There, I would meet a girl (20sf) and settle down. I was living my best life when an unexpected being told me that it was my duty to steal most of my adopted brother's (20sm) property (my brother had become family head, by the by). I was shocked, but nonetheless resolved to comply. What other choice did I have?

With this new resolution, I went back home. It took some convincing to obtain the willingness to take my brother's property. Still, I managed, and all that was left was to convince my brother to let him steal his property. He didn't want to, so his estate was wrecked by disasters. Instructions were given to protect the property I wanted to take from these disasters. After about ten catastrophes, my brother let me have the property I wanted.

I thought I was doing the right thing, but now I worry if I am a fratricidal mugger. AITJ?

These are two maps representing the political situation of the planet of Mesori, circa 140ACF (After Coalition Formation). Tho, importantly, this is in Mesorian years, which are really short. So 140ACF is roughly 23.5 Earth years.

Of course, Mesorians wouldn't think about this, given Earth is basically a myth. This setting is a far, far future where humanity has expanded across the galaxy, founded innumerable galactic empires, and forgotten the specifics of their origin. Mesori is merely one planet in the truly massive human civilization. In the future it will be the base of a great power.

But that future is not here yet, right now it is still a jumbled mess of squabbling polities. From the first map, we can clearly see the disunity of Mesori at this point in its history. And in the second map we see the international organizations/alliances that are trying to nit together this post-Imperial, shattered world.
