PC on a $1600-$2000 Budget

Posting because I would like to surprise my boyfriend by helping him build a new computer! He is currently using an HP OMEN from 2021. I believe he has a 2070 and is on an AM4 platform with 16GB RAM.

I built my own PC a couple years ago with the help of this community!! And I’m itching to do another build.

Requirements/Preferences:
- 32 GB RAM (Would prefer no RGB)
- AM5
- AMD GPU
—> 4k Gaming is NOT essential to him, but overall just want a robust GPU that can handle most anything that gets thrown at it game-wise.
- Preferably with a red case or red accents.

I am planning on buy this piece by piece if need be, but I’m not sure what to prioritize. I don’t live near a micro center but am willing to commute if it means I’ll save some money lol

TIA!

Having fun with this deck!

I don’t necessarily think it is the best because it is somewhat gimmicky, but it has been fun watching my opponents concede because they don’t give this snake the time of day.

Pros: Going first, in a format that favors ability Pokemon, you can very easily wall them while doing some spread damage to the bench. I’ve found if my opponent has boss, it still doesn’t necessarily do too much harm assuming you’ve been able to get other stuff setup on board. Plus, they have burned a VERY early game boss.

You can ignore needing the snake in any sort of team rocket’s matchup. Use the spiders for Honchcrow, and Mewtwo as a last ditch effort. Mewtwo is generally already good into Lucario, another matchup that doesn’t necessarily merit the snake.

Cons: Energy management is far more annoying, and sometimes I find I waste a lot of my team rockets energy early. Boss’s Orders is the obvious counter here, and that does sometimes hurt.

This deck isn’t as good into Raging Bolt, and Precious Trolley bypasses Arbok’s ability. I have also really struggled into any matchup with Starmie, but perhaps I am misplaying by prioritizing the wrong things.

Advice welcome!! I completely recognize that this deck isn’t nearly as strong as other more traditional Rocket box builds, but it’s a very fun gimmick, albeit inconsistent.
