Should I get tested for ASD?
Hello, I (19F) have had an unsteady mental health journey and was only able to bring myself to see a psychologist at 17, after two sessions he recommended I get screened for ASD as I display many symptoms, according to one of my parents my school also wanted to get me tested when i was 15-16. I am currently a college student now so id likely have to go through the public route, is there any benefits to having an autism diagnosis as an adult? I live in ireland so any resourses that are hard to find online would be helpful, or even any social/mental health/neurodivergent groups. I have a hard time seeking help about things so Im unsure if i should proceed with this, so Im asking for advice here, should I get tested? Also, would i be welcomed into this subreddit even without a diagnosis or confirmation as of the moment?
