Tips for Working Up Case As New Counsel

Hi All,

I just started a new position where I am staffed on about 30 cases, split evenly between liability and mass torts.

What are some ways you would go about working up cases if you’re the new attorney. Work backwards from trial date? Check discovery? What are items on your check list if you’re a new attorney on an old matter?

I’m personally having trouble working up the cards to manage because I am constantly putting out fires since starting. Very helpful staff and colleagues, I just want to see if I can get things at “cruising altitude.”
