chance me subreddit has become my doomscrolling…

honestly i have a love-hate relationship with this subreddit… all i do is scroll and look at these people with so many awards and cracked ecs and i want to give up on my own journey. its so bad that i ignore my own activities and academics just to scroll and feel bad about myself. why are we posting our stats on reddit, so we can feel validated? because very few people here actually have realistic and helpful advice, the rest are teenagers who have nothing better to do than comment on other peoples posts. WHY DOES THIS EXIST???

need help starting a financial literacy passion project!

if anyone could give me some advice on the best ways to go about this or some tips and tricks, i would greatly appreciate it. basically i want to start an initiative where i teach financial literacy workshops to underrepresented communities such as senior centers, refugee nonprofits and even local churches because i feel they are great places to reach a variety of different audiences such as youths and seniors. I have tried cold emailing a bunch of places and orgs. in my area but i have only gotten one response and it's still not a yes for sure. I'm really disappointed so far because I'm super interested in getting this going and i fear that if i don't start it now, i won't be able to actually go through with it because i'm entering junior year and i'm gonna be pretty busy. i've heard advice that i should go in person but i'm lowkey scared, especially for churches since i'm introverted and i definitely would feel awkward...

does anyone have advice on how to recover from this and other ways to reach out? or should i shift in another direction?? anything helps

is finance research as a high schooler worth it??

i’ve been getting a lot of influence that research is good for college admissions but i know half the people lie. i know all the myths and misconceptions but now ive been seeing more and more content (especially on reddit) that research is not impactful because AOs can “see through it“ and high schoolers supposedly can’t do research as it’s not realistic.

however, as a rising junior, i already cold emailed professors and only got a few responses from professors at a university with a 95% acceptance rate—very UNprestigious i know— and it seems genuinely helpful for me. some of them already provided potential topics and seem genuinely interested in collaborating with me. as someone who doesn’t see much finance or business research done by high schoolers, i personally think this could be a good opportunity.

the problem is i’m confused by what people from both sides say about research and i’m not sure if it’s worth it to work on it if its not worth it in the end. i really don’t care about publishing it in some big journal or anything, just the impact it could have on me in the future. could i get some advice on this?

Hi guys, so basically I have UIL state for high school tennis this week and I’m playing mixed doubles. I’m a 6 utr and my partner is a 9 utr so I trust him to not get me killed (most of the time). however, i found out that second round we are most likely going to play some REALLY good players and for some reason all i’m scared about is getting hit at the net. This has been a problem of mine since i started playing mixed and even in drills I have no idea how to confront my fear of being hit by the ball (even though it never happens). it’s not like i have time to do drills or anything like that, but i feel it’s more a mental obstacle that i need to get rid of quickly. anyone have any advice?
